She was born May 12, 1938 in Three Rivers, MI a daughter to the late George and Helen (Beebe) Baker.
Nancy had lived in a number of places including Three Rivers, Constantine, and Waterford, MI and Shipshewana and Goshen, IN.
From June of 1958 to April of 1975 she was married to Richard L. Earl Sr. and they created two children: Rick and Kathy. In July of 1983 she married Walter Johansen and he preceded her in death in April of 1993.
Nancy enjoyed interacting with people, planning parties, decorating, traveling, reading, driving, collecting dolls, receiving flowers, doing Word Searches, enjoying the company of her cats, and spending time with her children, grandchildren, and family.
She was a member of the Red Hat Society and was a Stephen's Minister.
Surviving are one daughter: Kathy (Gary) Roth of Shipshewana, IN; Step-children: Marybeth (Joe) Kasperlik of Grand Rapids, MI, June Johansen of Grand Rapids, MI, Linda (Ron) Morgan of Willmington, NC, and Martin (Pam) Johansen of Edwardsburg, MI. 7 step-grandchildren; 10 step-great-grandchildren; a brother: Doug (Gladys) Baker of Naples, FL; a sister: Barb (Bill) Buenger of Camarillo, CA; 3 nephews; 2 nieces and 2 grand nieces and 4 grand nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, son: Richard Earl Jr. (2012), daughter-in-law: Dawn Earl (2009); infant brother: Fredrick Baker.
Burial will be in Sturgis Memorial Gardens.
