Eliza Clark Garrett was the wife of Augustus Garrett. He was the 7th mayor of Chicago. They were married in 1825. Augustus died November 30, 1848. Eliza was the inspiration, chief benefactor and founder of Garrett Biblical Institute (now Garrett Evangelical Theological Seminary) in Evanston, Illinois.
