U.S. Congressman. He graduated from Wabash College, in 1918 and during the World War I, he served in the Field Artillery, U.S. Army. After the war, he was a representative for the Century Publishing Company, (1921-28) and general manager of the Wabash Baking Powder Chemical Company, (1928-41). He was a member in the Indianan State House of Representatives, (1949-50). In 1951, he was elected as a Republican to the Eighty-second Congress and to the next three succeeding Congresses, serving until 1959. An unsuccessful candidate for reelection, he served as member of the National Selective Service Appeal Board, (1960-61).
