Daniel Whitworth, 51, passed away suddenly June 28, 2003. Dan was born in Corpus Christi, Texas to Wallace and Bernice Whitworth on April 12, 1952.
Dan, Director of Parks and Recreation Department for the City of Corpus Christi, worked in the Parks and Recreation Department for over 20 years. In
March of this year, Dan was awarded the Fellow Award by the Texas Recreation and Parks Society, the highest honor the organization can bestow. Many lives were enriched by Dan's work. He was a genuine friend to so many and was respected by all who knew him. His faith, family and friends meant everything to him.
Dan is survived by his wife Mari, son Josh, and daughter Megan, his mother Bernice Whitworth, sisters Betty Menard (Charles) of Kingwood, Texas, Peggy Cunningham (Bruce) of Friendswood, Texas, brothers Wallace Whitworth Jr. (Jean) of Corpus Christi, Texas, Robert Whitworth ( Carole) of Edna, Texas, William Whitworth (Cheryl) of Beeville, Texas, Thomas Whitworth (Mary Ellen) of Houston, Texas, Gerald Whitworth (Diane) of Corpus Christi, Texas, Joseph Whitworth (Shelley) of Houston, Texas, Jack Whitworth (Barbara) of Victoria, Texas, close friends James and Diane Cano of Austin, Texas, and a plethora of cousins, nieces and nephews.
