He changed his name to Drury Lane. Texas death records and Social Security death records all list him as Drury Lane. I don't have a picture of the gravestone, but it probably reads his changed name of Drury Lane.

Married Eleanore Wright May 1, 1917, in Manhattan, New York.
They had one son, George Drury Lenington, born June 17, 1918 in New York, New York. He died August 4, 2000, possibly in Florida.

George and Eleanore divorced, and Eleanore remarried George Becht Champion in 1927.

His son George, served in the U.S. Army during WWII.

Eleanore served in the Womens Army Corps during WWII.

There seems to be doubt by some members (myself included) that the information on George's death certificate, listing a different name, implying that he may have changed his name at some point of time could be an error. The fact is that it is listed as fact, and no family member is alive to correct that fact if an error has been made.

Additionally, that same document lists the Odd Fellows Cemetery as the place where the remains were interred. They may have been buried in an unmarked grave, or if cremated, the ashes could have been scattered there. There is also the possibility that another cemetery was chosen after this document was made.

I just found an early California voting registration for Drury Lane which lists his occupation at that time as "Singer" which suddenly makes sense about the name change as most entertainment performers change their name to their stage name.
