Kentucky New Era obit posted 16 Sept 1985 reads as follows:

Prentice Thomas Ahart, 80, Route 4, died at 4:37pm Sunday at Trigg County Hospital after an apparent heart attack.

Services will be at 1pm Wednesday at Goodwin Funeral Home with the Revs. Marvin Denison and Grandville Courtney officiating. Burial site has not been determined.

Visitation will begin at 4pm Tuesday at the funeral home.

A native of Trigg County, he was born Oct. 5, 1904, the son of the late James and Margaret Nunn Ahart. He was a member of Dyers Chapel United Methodist Church. He was employed with the Tennessee Valley Authority for several years and retired from the maintenance department at Barkley Lodge.

Survivors include his wife, Live Bland Ahart; a son, James Ahart, Dover, Tenn.; three daughters, Eva Hooks, Kathleen Calhoun, and Eska Forguson, all of Trigg County; and 13 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
