SS EMPIRE SPENSER was a British Steam Tanker of 8,194 tons built in 1944 for the Mowt and managed by Anglo-Saxon Petroleum Co. On the 8th Dec 1942 - part of Convoy HX217 - she was torpedoed by German submarine U-524 and sunk.
