BEALS ISLAND - Guy H. Carver Jr., 87, passed at Down East Community Hospital in Machias, on March 8, 2014. He was born May 8, 1926, in Beals, to Guy H. Carver Sr., and Susie O. (Beal) Carver.He is survived by his childhood sweetheart and wife of 68-plus years, Ruth Lenfestey Carver. He is survived by their six children, Herrick L. Carver and his life partner, deceased, Daleywah Jabulani, of San Francisco; Duane C. Carver and wife, Dorrene; Dwight H. Carver and wife, Patti; Teresa F. Carver Beal; Mark R. Carver and wife, Debbie; and Suzanne D. Carver and husband, Richard "Buzz" Carver, all of Beals.
He was predeceased by his parents, Guy H. and Susie O. (Beal) Carver; his brother, Oscar L. Carver; and sisters, Sylvina W. Carver Alley Woodward, and Mina Carver Kent, all of Beals. From 1990 to 2012, he and his wife, Ruth, wintered in Zephyrhills, Florida.
He is survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.To honor his love of animals and especially his "doggy dogs," donations may made to The Ark Animal Shelter, P.O.
