FRIEDRICH MARKWARDT

From Der Nord Westen, 19 Apr. 1906:
Death in Kewaunee on 09 April, following an illness of only 2 days, of Fred Markwardt, a longtime resident of our county. Mr. Markwardt was born 01 June 1822 in Mecklenburg-Schwerin and came to America in 1854. He lived in Milwaukee for 3 years and then took over a farm in Town Two Rivers where he lived until 6 months ago when he went to
live with his daughter in Kewaunee. He leaves his widow, Mrs. May Markwardt, as well as the following children: Fred in Clearwater, Minnesota, Henry in Two Rivers, Willie in Blairsburg, Iowa, August in Two Rivers, Mrs. T.J. McCarty in Sheboygan, and Mrs. R.L. McCarty in Kewaunee. All of these children attended the funeral which was under the direction of the pastor of the Baptist Church. Mrs. M.
Markwardt and her children have asked us to express their heartfelt thanks to all their friends and neighbors who in this time of sorrow have expressed their friendship and condolences.
