Mrs. Eytcheson was born on March 22, 1920 in Huntington, a daughter of David Oliver and Cerena Ardesa (Cormany) DeWitt, and spent her formative years in the Arcola-area.
On April 3, 1937 she was married in Ligonier to Wilbur D. "Boob" Eytcheson, and spent her adult life in Eel River Township in Allen County until moving to Columbia City seven years ago.
Well known as a waitress in Churubusco, she had worked at the former Pat's Cafe and was later employed at the Magic Wand Restaurant. She was a member of the Jim Eby Veteran's of Foreign Wars Ladies Auxiliary Post 857 in Fort Wayne, and the Gilbert Davis American Legion Ladies Auxiliary Post 157 in Churubusco.
Mr. Eytcheson preceded her in death on October 16, 1973.
The surviving relatives include her two daughters Marilyn (Kenneth) Frazier of Churubusco and Doris Jones of Columbia City. There are six grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, and 12 great-gret-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by five brothers and five sisters.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p. m. on Friday, December 18, 2009, at the Sheets & Childs Funeral Home in Churubusco with Pastor Bob Courtney, officiating.
The family will receive friends from 4 to 8 p. m. Thursday at the mortuary, or one hour prior to the service Friday.
Interment will be in the Eel River Cemetery, south of Churubusco.
