U.S. Congressman. Born on a farm in Delmont, Pennsylvania, he graduated from Laird Institute at Murrysville, in 1896 and then engaged as an automobile distributor, in the wholesale oil and gas business. In 1933, he was elected as a Democrat to the Seventy-third and Seventy-fourth Congresses, serving until 1937. An unsuccessful candidate for re-nomination, he was clerk of the court of Westmoreland County, (1937-41) and was a delegate to the Democratic National Convention in 1944. He assistant librarian, to the United States House of Representatives, (1957-61) and promoted to Librarian Party until his death at age 82 in Greensburg, Pennsylvania.
