Manitowoc Daily Herald, June 21, 1910  P.4: "Funeral services for the late Lars Olson, the last survivor of the little band which founded the Gibson Lutheran church, was held at Mishicott Monday and a large concourse of friends attended. Mr. Olson is survived by five children, Mrs. P. Roullier and George Larsen of Michicott (sic), L.E. and Edward Larsen of Sheboygan and H. Larsen of Peshtigo. The burial was at Mishicott."

Blue eyes, light hair, light complexion, 5'6". Enlisted for one year on 26 Sep 1864 at Manitowoc, Wisconsin. Mustered 19 Oct 1864 at Madison, Wisconsin. Recruit. Bounty $100. Private. Joined the 27th from recruiting depot on 14 Nov 1864. Absent sick in general hospital at Little Rock, Arkansas, since 3 Feb 1865. Sources: (WHS Series 1200 boxes 129-14, 130-12)"
