The funeral for Richard Lee Kiefer will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Adams. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Mr. Kiefer, 49, of Lakeville, Minn., formerly of Elkton, died Tuesday (Dec. 24, 1996) in Burnsville, Minn.

He was born Sept. 16, 1947, in Austin and graduated from Elkton High School in 1965. He was in the Marines for four years, including two tours in Vietnam, after which he attended the University of Minnesota, graduating in 1978. In 1977 he moved from Burnsville to Lakeville and worked for John Deere Co. in Bloomington as an auditor. On July 7, 1991, he married Vicki Clark in Reno, Nev.; she survives. He attended Prince of Peace Church in Burnsville and was very active in Lakeville youth sports association, coaching baseball and basketball for more than 20 years.

Other survivors include three sons, Mark and Jason of Lakeville, and Kraig of Fort Collins, Colo.; a step-son, Joseph Harris of Tennessee; a step-daughter Samantha Harris of Oregon; his mother, Virginia Kiefer of Rochester; two grandchildren; two brothers, Colin of Monticello and Ronnie of Elkton; five sisters, Marjorie Sorgatz of Elkton, Darlene Kilen of Hayfield, Lori Lonergan and Elizabeth Kiefer, both of Rochester, and Marion Owens of Anoka, Minn.; and his first wife, Jan Kiefer of Lakeville.

Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at White Funeral Home in Lakeville. There will be a prayer service at 7 p.m.
