Mrs. Samuel (Amy) Groenfeldt, age 72, who had made her home for the past 12 years with Mrs. Martha Houle at 742 Jefferson Street, died Friday morning at the Memorial Hospital. She had been ailing since Christmas and was taken to the hospital Thursday; cause of death was a stroke.

Born May 20, 1875 in Sturgeon Bay, the former Amy Long, daughter of Agnes and Frank Long, the editor of The Advocate newspaper. On October 24, 1900, she married the Rev. Samuel Groenfeldt, who was the pastor of the Sturgeon Bay Moravain Church for many years and served at Ephraim and DePere. On March 10, 1927, Rev. Groenfeldt preceded her in death. About 20 years ago, Mrs. Groenfeldt suffered the loss of sight.

Active in the Memorial Hospital Auxiliary; Sturgeon Bay Woman's Club, WCTU and the Moravain Women's Association.

Survivors are two sons: James of Chicago, IL and the Rev. John of Bethlehem, PA; two grandchildren; a sister Agnes (Adolph) Woerfel of Sturgeon Bay, WI and a brother Dudley Long of Watertown, WI.

Final services were held Monday at 1:30 pm at the Moravain Church with burial in the Woodlawn Cemetery in Green Bay, WI. Pallbearers were Conrad Stram, Elmer Fidler, Albert Lenius, Henry Fidler, George Draeb and Oscar Smith.
