Millard (Jack) Cox, 58, of RD 5 Waynesburg (East View ) died at 7:30 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 6, 1981 at his residence.

Born May 20, 1922, at Rogersville, he was a son of the late Walter and Bessie Shriver Cox.

A life long resident of the Waynesburg area, he was a member of the First
Church of the Nazarene of Waynesburg.

He was a member of the Civilian Conservation Corps and a veteran of World War II having served with the U.S. Army in the Pacific Theater.

During the Korean Conflict, he served with Co.K 110th Infantry, 28th
Division.

He was a member of the James Farrell Post 330 of the American Legion and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4793.

A former employee of the R.G. Johnson Construction Co. he was last employe by the Williamson Shaft Construction Co.

He is survived by his wife Betty Swanger Cox, who he married June 20, 1944; a daughter Mrs. Jeffrey (Vickie) Wilson of Blacksville, W. Va; four sisters Mrs. Emerson (Audra) Moore of RD 2 Waynesburg, Mrs. Arden (Martha) Turner of Waynesburg, Mrs. William (Mary) Hopkins of RD 6 Waynesburg and Mrs. John (Virginia Rae) Blosser of RD 2 Waynesburg; a brother Herb Cox of RD 4 Waynesburg; three granddaughters Marla, Jennie, and Michelle and one grandson Jeffrey.

A son David W. Cox, a sister Ruby Cox and a brother Andrew Cox preceded him in death.

COX--Friends of Millard (Jack) Cox, 58, of RD 5 Waynesburg ( East View),
who died Tuesday, Jan. 6, 1981, will be received at the Ghse. E. Mariner and Samuel A. Milliken Funeral Home from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m Thursday.

Services will be held Friday at the funeral home at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Deane Hardy officiating. Interment will be in Oakmont Cemetery.
