Jack Lee Carstens, 80, of Lincoln, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Tuesday, March 18, 2014. He was born on October 4, 1933 in Winside to Hans and Ruby Irene (Meyers) Carstens. US Army veteran. He married the love of his life, Annette vonSeggern, in Elk Pointe, S.D in 1956. Retired from K-Mart in Lincoln. He enjoyed playing cards, fishing, watching baseball, basketball, NASCAR and spending quality time with his family.

Survivors: loving wife of 58 years, Annette; daughters, Linda (Carstens) Weisbeck, Kelly Carstens, Pamela Carstens-Zwiebel and Sheila (Jeff) Gans; sons, Douglas and Rodney Carstens; 19 grandchildren and 33 great grandchildren; sisters, Nancy (Clark) Bauer and Mary Otto. Brother, Dean (Sharon) Carstens; sister-in-law, Barbara Carstens; brother-in-law, Harry Dohren. Preceded in death by infant son, Terry; parents; brothers, Dick, George, LeRoy Carstens; sister, Ethel Dohren.

Graveside service: 2 pm Friday, March 21, at Memorial Funeral Park, 6700 So. 14th Street, Lincoln. Meet at gate #2. Memorials can be directed to the family for future designation. Arrangements by Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home. Condolences can be left at lincolnfh.com
