Rowell, Dorothy Louise Nabers was born November 3, 1919 in North Carolina. After a short illness she died on Thursday, March 20. Preceded in death by her husband, Andy Hunter Rowell, Sr. who had been her sweetheart since they were twelve years old; Mother, Ruby Nabers Gottlieb; Step-father, Maurice Gottlieb; Sister, Catherine Nabers Thronburg; Brother, Benjamin "Butch" Ernest Nabers. Mrs. Rowell attended Ensley High School. In raising her three sons she volunteered in every part of their lives, in the schools, sports, and the Cub Scout program. She served as Chief Inspector for the Ensley Community voting precinct for a number of years. Mrs. Rowell was a long time active member of Ensley Baptist Church and a very active member of Central Park Baptist Church and the Bethany-Barracca Sunday School Class. She was a teacher aide at Eagan Elementary School and retired from J.C. Penny Company. She had a loving spirit and gave encouragement to many lives through her card ministry. Survivors include sons; Dr. Andy Hunter Rowell, Jr. (Marilyn), James "Butch" Ernest Rowell (Jackie), and Daniel Maurice Rowell. Grandchildren; Andy Hunter Rowell III (Terri), Dr. Paul Clay Rowell (Lisa), Beth Rowell Chandler (Jeff), Jill Rowell Mooney (Jeff); Great Grandchildren; Andy Hunter Rowell IV, Spencer Ridley Rowell, Brittany Michelle Rowell, Kelsey Anne Rowell, James Douglas Chandler, Margaux Louise Rose Mooney, William Oliver Mooney, Emerson Reese Rowell, Ellery Grace Rowell; Great-Great Grandson, Asher Brody Johnson. The service will be held on Monday, March 24, at 2:00 PM at Elmwood Chapel. Visitation will be from 12:30 to 2:00 PM. Burial will follow the service at Elmwood Cemetery. Pastor Dr. Melvin Deason and Dr. Levan Parker will officiate her service.
