Violet F. Saiter, age 88, passed away March 27, 2014 at Friendship Village.
She was born February 19, 1926 in Marion, Ohio to the late Roy and Nettie (Swisher) Sisson.
Violet graduated from Marion High School and Bliss College. While in high school, she loved working on the school newspaper. Throughout her life she had an instinct for journaling and was a voracious reader. Violet won many TV and radio contests, including a beautiful car from WTVN. Violet enjoyed gardening and especially loved violets.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 67 years, Arthur Saiter, on August 30, 2013; also siblings, Beatrice, George, Evelyn, Oscar and Alec.
She is survived by her sister, Nellie Gorenflo; four sons, Gregory (Sheila), Michael, Randall (Sue) and Terry; grandchildren, Wendy (Gary) Bailey, Brent (Fiona) and Rachel Saiter; great-grandchildren, Christopher Bunker, Chelsea and Garrett Bailey, Maia and Sydni Saiter; great-great-grandchild Samuel Bunker; sister-in-law Lee Saiter; extended family and friends.
Funeral Service at Schoedinger North Chapel, 5554 Karl Rd., Columbus, OH 43229 will begin at 1pm on Monday, March 31, 2014 where family will welcome friends from 11am-1pm; interment to follow at Marion Cemetery; Andrew Hoover, Celebrant
