Obituaries Grace M. McQuinn

Grace M. McQuinn, 94, a resident of the Franklin Country Nursing Home in Malone Since February 1994, and formerly of the Constable Street Road, Malone, died Friday, July 2, 1999.

Born in Fort Covington on June 2, 1905, she was the daughter of the late John and Julia Beaudoin Martin. She attended schools in Cooks Corners.

On April 19, 1926, she was united in marriage to Vernon LaBelle at St Mary's Church in Brushton. He predeceased her on June 4, 1978. She then married Herbert McQuinn on October 13, 1979, in St. Mary's Church, Brushton. He predeceased her on July 23, 1991.

From 1921 to 1940, she was employed at the Bombay Slipper Factory, and then at the Malone Plant for a few years. She then worked at Cossack Bootees, Inc. in Chateaugay, with her husband Vernon for many years. She was later a Matron at the Franklin County Jail in Malone for seven years, and then worked in quality control at the Bombay Slipper Factory.

Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Lorraine and Chester Buhyoff, of Malone; a grandson Kevin McGovern, of Peru; two great-grandchildren, Aaron and Alyssa McGovern, of Plattsburgh and a great-grandson, Christopher McGovern, of Plattsburgh.

Also surviving, are three stop-sons, Douglas McQuinn, of Rome, Clifford McQuinn, of Brushton and Hugh McQuinn, of Malone; a brother Lester Martin, of Malone and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Besides her husbands she was predeceased by a step-son, Donald McQuinn; a step-daughter, Joan Rouselle; three brothers, Clifford, Sherman and Roy Martin and by a sister Rhoda in infancy.

She was a communicant of Notre Dame Church in Malone and a member of the Catholic Daughters of America.

Calling hours will be in the Bruso-Desnoyers Funeral Home in Malone, on Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. A vigil service will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday evening at 8:30. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday at 10 a.m. in Notre Dame Church in Malone with Rev. Frank Coryer presiding. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the Franklin County Cancer Society of the Residents Activity Fund at the Franklin County Nursing Home, in care of Carole Smallman, Director.
