A native of Washington State, Patrolman Williams moved to Lordsburg at a young age and graduated from high school there in 1956. He joined the State Police in 1960. His wife, Rita, one daughter, Tamara, 5, and two sons, James Craig, 3, and Bennie Eric 2, survived the officer. He was buried at Lordsburg.
