In the death. of Mr. John B. Amoretti age 88 years and 9, months which,
occurred on Sunday March 7 1926, at his residence at City Price the Parish
of Plaquemines suffers the loss of one its oldest and most highley esteemed
and respected citizens, who numbered among his friends the entire community.
Mr. Amoretti was a native of Nice, France and crossed the ocean at the age
of eleven and has been amongst us and one of us for 60 years: married here
and reared a large family, the survived members of which are Mrs P M Adema,
Mrs H H Wire, Mrs W L McCormick, Mrs A Bilich, Mrs T Casenzo, Misses Oneida,
Pascaline and Victorine Amoretti and a son Mr Jos N Amoretti and fifteen
grandchildren and two great grandchildren. The remains of the deceased were
conveyed to New Orleans on Tuesday and interment made in St. Roch Cemetery.
