Obituary-Miss Jeannette Salyer, of 2009 Sherwood Drive, Apt. 3, has gone to her heavenly home on Saturday, September 3, 2005, at her residence. She was born in Castlewood, Virginia, on January 8, 1908, to the late John and Bessie Nickels Salyer. Jeanette lived most of her life in Kingsport and Bristol, moving to Johnson City in 1990. She had an abiding faith, was a member of the Central Baptist Church and worked as a homemaker.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by: two brothers, Russell and Kent Salyer; and three sisters, Kate Curlee, Ethel Smith and Louella Sutherland. Survivors include two nephews, Charles Smith and John Salyer, both of Johnson City; three nieces, Marianne Murphy, Columbia, SC, Carol Clark, Newport, and Dot Etchinson, of Maryland; several great nephews and nieces.

A funeral service is scheduled for Monday, September 5, 2005, at 3:00 p.m. in the North Chapel of the Morris-Baker Funeral Home under the direction of Rev. R. Willard Warfield, with music provided by Mr. Ambers Wilson. The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. until time of service at three. A committal service will be conducted in the Monte Vista Memorial Park following the funeral. Pallbearers will be selected from family and friends.
