FORMER ILLINOIS TREASURER'S WIDOW DIES IN THE WEST - Mrs. Mary (Marie) Rutz - Mother of Mrs. Emma Krebs, Native Resident of Belleville
Word was received of the death in Los Angeles, Calif., at 1:10 a.m. Thursday of Mrs. Mary (Marie) Rutz, formerly of Belleville and widow of the late Edward Rutz, at one time State Treasurer of Illinois.
Mrs. Emma Krebs (wife of Arthur) of this city, daughter of Mrs. Rutz, summoned to the bedside two weeks ago, was there when death came. Mrs Rutz, whose maiden name was Maus, was a native resident of Belleville. She was (almost) 84 years old. Thirty-two years ago she and her husband left Belleville for Los Angeles. Three children survive:
Mrs. Emma Krebs, wife of Arthur, of Belleville
Miss Anna Rutz, of Los Angeles
Elmer Rutz, of Los Angeles
... also 2 grandchildren and one sister; Mrs. Anna Bang of Chicago.
The funeral will take place in Los Angeles.
