Gustave 'Gust' Damrow was born 14 November 1894 in Calumet, Michigan to Friederich and Ina Justine Schwartz. He came to Herman as a small child and attended Franklin School. He married Viola Winkel on 9 February 1933 at the Sheboygan Theatre by Justice of the Peace George Goodell. Gust was a professional wrestler earlier in his life and appeared on mat cards at Eagle Hall. His call name was the 'South Side Ring Worm.' Later in his life he owned and operated a local trucking company and retired from professional life in 1959. His wife, a brother Clarence, and three sisters, Mrs. Hattie Bagemehl, Mrs. Harold Leffin, and Mrs. Elmer Steinpass, Milwaukee survived him. Gustave's funeral was held at Ramm Funeral Home and Rev. Thomas O. Lee, pastor of Saint Peter Evangelical Lutheran Church was the officiant. Burial was in Wildwood Cemetery.
