Frankfort Morning Times, May 3, 1938:

LIFELONG RESIDENT OF COUNTY IS DEAD

Walter M. Gray, 77, retired farmer and lifelong resident of Clinton Co., died at his home near Middlefork Sunday morning at 11:30 o'clock. He had been in failing health for four years. Heart trouble was the immediate cause of his death.

Mr. Gray was a native of Warren township. He was a son of Jefferson and Rebecca (Pitman) Gray and was born June 29, 1861. His marriage to Ida C. Ricker was solemnized July 30, 1883.

The widow and five children survive. The children are: Mrs. Maude Wright of Beard; Mrs. Mae Beil, of Buck Creek; Mrs. Marie Gochenour, of Rossville; John of Frankfort, and Paul of Michigantown. Three brothers, Edward of Rossville; William of Chicago, and Harry of Kirklin, also survive with a number of grandchildren.

Mr. and Mrs. Gray celebrated their golden wedding anniversary on July 30, 1933. He was the oldest member of the Farm Bureau of Warren Twp., also one of the oldest members of the Universalist church at Middlefork.

Funeral services will be conducted this afternoon at 2 o'clock at the family home, followed by interment at Kilmore cemetery.
