Alfred D. Stidham
Special to the Inquirer.

Ocean City, N.J., Sept. 18, Alfred D. Stidham, aged 81 years, died at his home here last night, after an illness extending throughout the sunner. He was born in Wilmington, Del., in June, 1836. His forefathers were among the early settlers of Delaware, coming from Sweden. When Washington was threatened with invasion, during the Civil War, Mr. Stidham joined a District of Columbia companyof troops that was organized for three months' service. Mr. Stidham leaves a widow and two children, Mrs. Charles Shaler, widow of General Shaler, of Indianapolis, and Harrison Stidham, of Washington, D. C. The remains will be taken to Washington for interment in Rock Creek Cemetery.
