JOHN R. DEUCHLER

The funeral of John R. Deuchler, 72 years old, who died Thursday at his home, 1373 [?] Ridgeley street, took place Sunday. The services were conducted by Rev. Hans [illegible], pastor of St. Luke's German Lutheran Church, Henrietta and Eutaw streets, of which Mr. Deuchler was one of the organizers. Rev. George Miller, pastor of Second English Lutheran Church, assisted in the services. The pallbearers were Messrs. Harry L. Gauer, Lewis Plitt, George [illegible], John P. More, John Schmeizer, and William Kahl, members of Jackson Lodge, Knights of Pythias. Burial was in Loudon Park Cemetery.

Mr. Deuchler was born in Baden Baden, Germany, and came to this city when 17 years old. He conducted the Spring Garden Hotel until about nine years ago, when his health failed and he retired, succeeded by his son, George H. Deuchler. His wife, Barbara Deuchler (nee Martin), died 19 years ago. Surviving him are three daughters, Mrs. Margaret C. Heinserting [sp?], Mrs. Anna Hensler [sp?], and Miss Louisa Deuchler; two sons, Messrs. John and George H. Deuchler, 14 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
