Born and raised in Burlington Township, he was a lifelong area resident. He was a graduate of Burlington High School and served in the U.S. Marine Corps with two deployments to Vietnam. Ron worked for most of his adult life at the nuclear power plant in Salem.
He loved woodworking, trains and anything to do with Star Wars.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas L. Heaton Sr. and Margaret Shull Heaton; and his siblings, Margaret Bracalente (Robert) and Roy M. Heaton (Jean). He is survived by his longtime companion, Anna Stecker; his brothers, Thomas L. Heaton Jr. (Donna) and George C. Heaton (Maureen); and several nieces and nephews and their families; as well as two very good friends, Len and Nickelodeon.
The funeral will be held at 1 p.m., Thursday, at the at the Dennison Funeral Home, 21 W. Front St., Florence, where relatives and friends may call from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Entombment will be in Odd Fellows Cemetery Mausoleum in Burlington.
