Vivian Dorothy Stumbo Vavra, 97, of Tama Iowa was born on June 1, 1916 in Ulen, Minnesota, the daughter of John L. and Clara Bell (Holbrook) Stumbo. On Monday, April 21, 2014 Jesus called Vivian's name and came, took her hand and told her, her room in heaven was ready (John 14:2-3). He also said her Big Blue Eyed Joe (husband) was there waiting for her, also her son Vernon ("Jake"), her parents and her nine siblings who had all gone before her. Also the rest of her relatives and friends would be there to greet her at her eternal home. She passed away at Premier Estates of Toledo under the care of Iowa River Hospice.

Vivian received her education in Boone and Woodward, Iowa.

On December 1, 1930, she was united in marriage to Joseph L. Vavra in Boone, Iowa. Vivian worked in the kitchen at South Tama High School from 1962 until her retirement in 1977. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Tama.

Survivors waiting to join this beautiful Christian lady- are daughters, Beverly (Bill) Kriegel of Marion and Norma (Walter) Kriegel of Tama; thirteen grandchildren; thirty-four great grandchildren; and eighteen great-great grandchildren.
