Mrs. Joseph E. Anhalt, 71, of Clarks Mills, died Tuesday at Holy Family Hospital, Manitowoc. Funeral services will be at the Reedsville funeral Home and at St. Mary Catholic Church, Clarks Mills. The Rev. Leander Nickel will officiate and burial will be in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Anhalt, nee Mathilda Pritzl, was born May 28, 1898, at Brillion; daughter of the late Anton and Mary Zipperer Pritzl. She married Joseph Anhalt June 17, 1919 at Kasson Catholic Church, Kasson. They farmed in Cato and retired in 1968. She was a member of Christian Mothers of St. Mary Catholic Church and Catholic Knights of Wisconsin.
Survivors include her husband; four sons, Gordon of St. Nazianz, Claude of Reedsville, Wilfrid of Gales Ferry, Conn., David of Rt. 4, Manitowoc; seven daughters, Mrs. Wesley (Charlotte) Rovang of Aberdine, S.D., Mrs. Carl (Jeanette) Klein of Rt. 1, Cato, Mrs. Gordon (Mary Ann) Wotruba of Manitowoc, Mrs. Merrill (Joan) Buck of Manitowoc, Mrs. Paul (Phyllis) Schamburek of Manitowoc, Mrs. Patrick (Rose) Scanlon of Oshkosh and Mrs. Roger (Colleen) Brunner of Manitowoc; a brother, William of Brillion; a sister, Mrs. Emil Hoffmann of Appleton; 46 grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Two sons and a daughter died in infancy.
