Helen Marie "Junie" Harrington Lansing, MI Passed away on Monday, April 21, 2014 at the age of 80. Born on June 1, 1933 to John and Amelia (Orban) Lynch in Pittsburgh, PA. Helen served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War. She met her husband James on July 4th while stationed in Washington D.C. and was married that same year on September 9th. Helen worked for and retired from AT&T as a Telephone Operator. She was a member of the Good Sam's Club, and generously gave her time volunteering at local voting polls. She was active in Neighborhood Watch and was awarded the Hometown Hero award by the Mayor. Preceding her in death were her parents; brothers, Hugh "Gene", John, and Thomas Lynch; and sisters, Joan Kozlowski, Amelia "Patsie" Modzelewski. Helen is survived by her husband of 60 years, James F. Harrington Sr.; sons, Jim (Esther) Harrington, Bill Harrington, John "Jackie" Harrington; daughter, Karen Bessette; grandchildren, Andrew (Sarah) Harrington, Phillip Harrington, David Harrington, Patrick (Hannah) Bessette, John Bessette; great grandson, Xander Harrington; sister, Rosemarie Neill; brothers, Billy, Jerry, and Joe "Frankie" Lynch; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 26, 2014 11:00 am at Skinner Funeral Home, Lansing Chapel, burial will follow at Deepdale Memorial Gardens in Lansing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday 2-4 & 6-8 PM.
