Chico Enterprise-Record, January 26, 1999. Elizabeth Bain. Las Vegas, Nev. – Services have been held for former Chicoan Elizabeth Ann Bain, 84, of Las Vegas, Nev. She died Wednesday, Jan. 20, 1999 in a Las Vegas hospital. She was born Aug. 23, 1914, to Clarence and Helen Studley in Chico. In 1939, she married Warren E. Bain. He died in 1970.

Mrs. Bain attended schools in Chico, and received her diploma from Chico High School in 1939. In 1934, she received a diploma from the Academy of Fine Arts in San Francisco for Fashion Illustration. In 1935, she received a Bachelors of Arts Degree from the State Teachers College of Chico. Mrs. Bain taught for four years after receiving a diploma. She then became a housewife and substitute teacher, teaching in Biggs from 1952 to 1955. From 1970 to 1984 she worked at the JC Penneys in Chico.

She was a member and past matron of the Order of the Eastern Star, Lyman Chapter. She, along with Juanita Daniels of Chico, were the co-founders of the House of Hobbies Ceramic Club.

Survivors include two sons, Michael of Greeley, Colo., and Alan of Las Vegas, a sister, Irma Belle Guynn of Albany, Ore.; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Burial will be private. The Davis Funeral Home in Las Vegas handled the arrangements.
