Gerald Lee Haygood, 61, of Oxford, IN. died at St. Elizabeth Central Hospital 8:06 PM Wednesday April 23, 2014. Gerald was born in Clark County, NV. March 22, 1953, the son of the late Oren and Inge Klue Haygood, and was a graduate of Lafayette Jefferson High School. He married Ann Hensley-Fellure in Lafayette September 25, 1993, and she survives. Mr. Haygood served in the U S Army during the Viet Nam war, and with the Indiana National Guard for over 20 years, working in the maintenance department at armories including the former armory at 9th and Salem in Lafayette, Boswell and Remington. He was a member of the AmVets at Fowler, IN; played the guitar, loved animals, enjoyed gardening, especially his tomatoes; and enjoyed a good chess game. Surviving with his wife is a step-son, L. Kent Fellure of Alamogordo, NM., a brother, Thomas Haygood of West Lafayette, IN. and a sister, Patricia Kaspar (husband Steve) of Warrenton, MO. Also surviving are two grandchildren, Lucas and Issaac Fellure and by three nephews, Ryan, Alex and Trevor Kaspar. Friends may call at the Hahn-Groeber Funeral Home, Oxford from 10:30 AM until the service at 11:30 AM Monday, Larry McMillan officiating.
