Betty was born and raised in Midvale, Idaho. She graduated from the University of Idaho and began her teaching career in Emmett, Idaho, where she met her husband Tony Aschenbrener. They had one daughter. They moved and lived in Myrtle Point, Oregon for several years, before settling in Portland Oregon permanently. She received her Master's Degree from Portland State University. She taught in the Portland schools, retiring in 1986. She was preceded in death by her husband, sister Norma, and twin brother Robert. She is survived by her daughter, Debi Aschenbrener Brakebush, seven grandchildren, and 3 great grandchildren. Funeral services at All Saints Catholic Church, Portland Oregon, on October 24 at 1:15 p.m. Donations in her memory may be made to Central Catholic High School and the Oregon Humane Society.
