Etta Jeanetta Gold was the second child, second daughter of Edna (Anderson) and Thomas Henry "Harry" Gold. She was born in Brown County, two miles east of Baker, Kansas.

Etta taught two terms in the Lone Star District.

On November 15, 1927, she married Frank Wiltz. They had two sons, Richard Lee and William Leroy Wiltz. Frank and Jeanetta were divorced in 1931. ( The boys took on the Zabel name)

On July 26, 1933, she married Charles William Zabel Jr. They had three daughters, Shirley, Sharon and Charlotte.

She was a graduate from Powhatten High School and attended Emporia State Teachers College. She lived most of her life in the Wetmore area.

Interment was at the Granada Cemetery near Wetmore.
