Henry died in the "Line Of Duty" when his C-46 was involved in a mid air collision with C-46 #41-12357 in the skies in the vicinity of the Reno Army Airfield, Nevada during the war. Both aircraft were operating on a training flight. " 7 " of the crew perished on C-46A #42-96716 and " 5 " perished on C-46 #41-12357.

The crew of C-46 #42-96716 were noted as following the prescribed instrument let down when the airplane was struck by C-46 #41-12357.
