"Rhoda was born on a farm near Eau Claire (Butler County) in Western PA. She lived there until she completed the eighth grade and about that time, she was orphaned at 12 years of age. She moved to New Brighton, PA to live with her sister while she attended school. She graduated from New Brighton High School. About this time, she met Russell Myers. Since his brother Jere met and married a relative of Rhoda's, it was natural that they would be seeing each other often. They were married at Canon City, Colorado, August 19, 1911. They stayed with Russell's sister and family (Myrtle and Ed Orin) for a couple of weeks until they found a home. They lived at Cannon City until 1912, when they moved to California. After Russell retired, they decided to purchase a mobile home near Paramount and North Long Beach. Russell lived only six months, and Rhoda stayed there three months longer. She then decided to move to Granada Villa on July 13, 1972. In 1978, she moved to the Judson Terrace Homes in San Luis Obispo, California."
