Frank Nayder, age 76, died after a protracted battle with prostate cancer, for which he was wonderfully treated at the University of Chicago Hospitals. Despite the onset of schizophrenia received his Ph.D. in Biochemistry from the University of Chicago in 1960 and worked for the Chicago Park District for many years. He was a life-long gardener who especially enjoyed spending time outdoors in and around Mauston, WI. He was predeceased by his brothers Joseph and Thomas Nayder and sisters Rose Haba and Alice Koski. His is survived by his loving daughter and son-in-law Lillian Nayder and Matt Johnson; his two grandsons, Nate and George Johnson; his sisters Blanche Martin and Lorraine Woodruff; his brother Ben Nayder, and by Matt, Susan and Jim Koski and Margaret Koski-Kent; along with many other nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank CNS Hospice, particularly Vickie Baldino and Milt Lemke for their care of Frank in the terminal phase of his illness. Visitation Sunday 1 to 7 p.m.at Norris-Walen Funeral Home (Ronald T. Segert- Director) 132 Fremont St., West Chicago. Funeral service Monday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment St. Mary Cemetery in Evergreen Park. 630-231-0060.
