Rock Musician. He was best known as the original bassist with the music ensemble "Foreigner." Born Edward John Gagliardi, he was so greatly inspired by Paul McCartney (The Beatles/Wings) that he learned to play the the bass left-handed even though he was naturally right. He provided both instrumental and vocal contributions to their first two studio albums "Foreigner" (1977) and "Double Vision" (1978), prior to departing in 1979. He died from a lengthy battle with cancer. In 2024, he was posthumously inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a member of Foreigner.
