Barbara Ann Blinn Vandenburgh was born July 3, 1918 to former Mayor of Oklahoma City, Judge Clarence Jacob Blinn and Margaret Davis Blinn. She attended Classen High School and later Oklahoma City University, the University of Oklahoma and Blackwood Davis Business College.

In 1976 Barabara married Edward Stoakes Vandenburgh, and moved to Rochester, Minnesota. They were married 27 years. Edward passed on December 22, 2003 in Rochester and was buried in Ft. Logan Military Cemetery, Denver, Colorado.

Barbara was Administrative Secretary to Victor Alessandro, conductor of the OKC Symphony Orchestra. She met all the featured artists and later donated to the OKC Philarmonic the autographed albums of some of the stars she met. Later she worked at the law office of Bil Harkey, then became Administrative Secretary to the President at Western Electric. She also worked for Carter Oil Company, Ty Dahlgren, and First Presbyterian Church. Always interested in her community Barbara spent many hours as a valuable volunteer at Mercy Hospital, the Mummers Theater, Lyric Theater and Symphony. While on a vacation to California Barbara tried and enjoyed an Orange Julius. When she came home she persuaded her brother, Robert Blinn and wife Susanne Wells Blinn to purchase a franchise and together they established the first Orange Julius stand in Oklahoma on 23rd street.

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, Judge C J Blinn and Margaret Blinn; her husband, Edward Vandenburgh; her brothers, John Dean Blinn and Robert Davis Blinn and his wife Susanne Wells Blinn.

She is survived by her nieces, Susan Blinn Latta of Pawleys Island, SC, Trudy Blinn Stewart of Fairview, TX and Diane Blinn Kenney of Oklahoma City; she is also survived by 8 nieces and nephews and 17 great nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held Monday, May 19, 2014 at . at Fairlawn Cemetery in OKC.
