T.A. Berkshire Passes Away
Thurman Anson Berkshire, 69, of Columbus Junction rural route, passed away at 12:15 p.m. Tuesday, March 3, 1959, at the Burlington Hospital, Burlington, Iowa.
He was born February 1, 1890, in Louisa County, Iowa, the son of Frederick and Sadie Rodruck Bershire. He was married January 31, 1912, to Ethyl Ogier of Louisa County, Iowa, who survives him.
Surviving beside his wife are three children: Charles of Winfield, Mrs. Ted Anderson of Winfield, and Mrs. Harold Grimes of Burlington; two sisters, Mrs. Lee Enke of Burlington and Mrs. George Gipple of Winfield; one brother, Joe Berkshire of Thornton, Iowa; eleven grandchildren and one great grandchild.
His parents and one brother preceded him in death.
Funeral services will be at the Cairo Evangelical United Brethern Church, of which he was a member and trustee, at 2:00 o'clock Thursday afternoon, March 5, 1959. Rev. E.R. Fuhrman, assisted by Rev. J.A. Deedrick, will be in charge.
Interment will be at Cairo cemetery.
