Jerry was born in Detroit, Michigan, May 28, 1930, to Ernest G. and Erma 0. Brown. After attending Eastern Michigan State on a golf scholarship, he bravely served his country for 20 years as an Air Force navigator, retiring as a Lieutenant Colonel. His career continued for 20 more years in Corpus Christi with Xerox and Group One Real Estate.
Jerry once said, "My car won't start without the golf clubs in the trunk" which exemplified his passion for golf and superb sense of humor. He played some of the finest courses in the world, had a weekly tee time at the Padre Island Country Club with the "Throw Ups", and even played a round on his honeymoon to the bewilderment of his new bride who soon learned to share his passion for golf.
Jerry's quiet strength and love will be remembered in the hearts of his wife of 57 years, Anita; his sister Sally Madalin and her husband Dr. Herb Madalin; his children Susan Stavinoha and her husband Bill and their children, Tyler, Allison, and Jordan; Karin Nilles and her husband Joe and their children Brandon, Benjamin and Christopher; and David Brown and his wife Janna and their son Dylan.
Entombment services will be at Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery.
