Mrs Constance Eckes, 39, of North Star Drive, Merrill died on Wednesday April 18, 1984.

She was born to Erick and Mildred (Olmstad) Kerstner on June 22, 1944 in Wausau. She married Gerald Eckes on Septemeber 26, 1964 in Bowler. She was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church, of the church's planning commission and building committee, and was a Bethel Bible Series instructor. She organized and served as first president of the Women's Investors of Merrill, formerly owned and operated Homespun Gifts, and was a recipient of the CAROL Award, and was active in the PTO at Washington School.

She worked in the office at Northern Wire Corp.

Constance is survived by her husand, her mother of Bowler, a son Peter and a daughter Melissa, both at home; three brothers, Donald Kerstner of Wausau, Carol Kerstner of Bowler and Leon Kerstner of Security, CO along with two sisters Mrs Beverly Bierman of Bowler and Mrs Carol Brennecke of Mattoon.

Funeral services were held on Saturday April 21, 1984 at Our Savior's Lutheran Church. The Rev. John Henning and Rev. Dan Olson officiated and entombment was in Merrill Memorial Park Mausoleum.
