James A. Mumper, age 49 of Holton, passed away Thursday, May 22, 2014 at the Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit following a lingering illness. Jim was born on October 11, 1964 in Muskegon to Jerry Robert and Mamie Ethel (Hyde) Mumper and later graduated from White Lake Christian Academy. After graduation, Jim enlisted in the United States Navy where he served during the Grenada Conflict. Jim had been a truck driver and operator at Grand Rapids Gravel for several years and enjoyed radio controlled airplanes and helicopters and his dogs. Jim was a member of the Croton American Legion Post #381.

Jim is survived by his son, Corey Mumper (fiancé, Emily) of Lowell; his granddaughter, Lavea Grace Mumper; his parents, Jerry and Mamie Mumper of Holton; brothers, Steve Baker of Holton; Tony (Michelle) Baker of Holton; several nieces and nephews.

VISITATION : Tuesday, May 27, 2014 from 5-8pm and 1 hour prior to the services at Crandell Funeral Home – White Cloud Chapel.

FUNERAL SERVICES : Wednesday, May 28, 2014 at 12pm at the Crandell Funeral Home with MILITARY RITES given.

INTERMENT : Big Prairie Everett Township Cemetery.
