Moses Todd was likely born in Newburyport, Massachusetts sometime between 1782 and 1787 to Moses Todd and Joanna Akerman. Intent to marry Elizabeth (Eliza/Betsy)Philbrick was declared 7 April 1810 in Newburyport, Massachusetts. The couple married 6 May 1810, at Hampton Falls, Rockingham, New Hampshire. Sometime between 1811 and 1818, he and his wife moved with their family to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and they are recorded there in the 1820 census. Moses and Eliza probably divorced sometime between 1840 and 1844. Their children were Hannah Philbrick Todd, Elizabeth Todd, and Benjamin Philbrick Todd.
Moses married Margaret Robinson in about 1844 in Pennsylvania. Their children were: Samuel Robinson Todd, Virginia Todd, and Elmira Todd.
In the 1860 census his occupation was "farmer."
His death record indicates he was "about" 80 years of age.
Moses was buried on 20 Feb 1862 at the Odd Fellows Cemetery in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. In 1951, this cemetery closed and his remains were relocated to Lawnview Cemetery on 13 Aug 1951.
