Robertson Skinner, 23, passed away on Saturday, Oct. 25, 2008. Clare suffered fatal injuries in a tragic car accident in St. Augustine, FL. She was born in Jacksonville on August 23, 1985, the daughter of Bryant B. Skinner, Jr. and Joan Powell Skinner. Her father is a native of Jacksonville and her mother is a native of Raleigh, NC. The family lives in DeLand, FL, where Clare grew up. Clare graduated high school from The Geneva School in Orlando, and from the University of North Florida, with a degree in advertising. She was currently working on an internship for the John McCain presidential campaign. She was looking forward to pursuing a career in international politics. She was an energetic and fun loving young woman who always considered the needs of others. Clare was an animal lover, an accomplished gymnast, and had an innate talent for fashion and design. Clare also loved music and was an avid fan of the Florida Gators. Her quick smile, warm and always open personality, will be greatly missed by her many friends and extended family. Clare is survived by her older brother, James Bryant Walthour Skinner and his wife Abby, as well as her younger brother, Russell Joseph Powell Skinner. Clare's family members also include her paternal grandparents, Bryant B. Skinner, Sr., and Betty W. Skinner; her uncles Russell R. Skinner and Charles W. Skinner; her aunts Betsy P. Skinner, Sandy Middlekauff Skinner, and Laura Coppedge Skinner; and her first cousins Russell R.

The memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 29 at Immanuel Presbyterian Church, with the Rev. Mike Francis officiating. Family is to gather at the church at 10:00 a.m. Interment will be on Friday, Oct. 31 in Raleigh, NC.
