Pfc. U.S. Army, Vietnam War-Pfc. Smith was killed in a non-hostile situation on 12-30-1969 while serving as an Infantryman with Co. B of the 1st Battalion, 8th Cavalry Regiment, 1st Cavalry Division. Pfc. Smith started his tour of Vietnam on 12-2-1969.

He is the son of Mrs. Opal Davis of 4104 Pocket Road, East St. Louis, Illinois, and the husband of Mrs. Pearl C. Smith of 6414 South Parnell Street, Chicago, Illinois, 60621.

Awards: Combat Infantry Badge, Vietnam Service Medal with One Service Star, Vietnam Campaign Medal, National Defense Service Medal.
