Millie McPhail-Morische, age 84, of Osage, died Tuesday, May 27, 2014, at the Good Samaritan Society in St. Ansgar.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, May 31, 2014, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Osage with Rev. Bruce Kaltwasser officiating. Burial will be in the Osage Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Friday at the Champion-Bucheit Funeral Home in Osage.

Millie was born November 5, 1929, the daughter of Arnold and Edna (Hollatz) Muller. After graduating from Osage High School, she worked in a bank in Austin, Minnesota. On September 6, 1947, she married Norman Lee McPhail at the Little Brown Church. She was a secretary at Washington School and later worked at Home Trust Bank, both in Osage. Millie was then employed for 25 years as the secretary for the Mitchell County Engineer. Norman passed away July 14, 1988. Millie married Gene Morische on November 24, 2001. After her retirement, Millie worked as a census taker and was a Foster Grandparent in Nora Springs. She enjoyed reading and watching Iowa wrestling.

Millie is survived by her husband, Gene Morische of Nora Springs; her children, Jeanne (Ron) Bruggeman of Northwood, Brian (Carrie) McPhail of Plymouth, and Jay (Natalie) McPhail of Hanley Falls, Minnesota; step-son, Gary Morische of Osage; nine grandchildren, Todd (Erin) Leonard, Daren (Deb) Leonard, Cathy (Rob) Braun, Brian (Virginia) Bruggeman, Matthew McPhail, Megan McPhail, Catie (Chris) Dahl, Cameron McPhail, and Andrew Morische; seven great-grandchildren, and her sister, Helen Ingvalson of Gaylord, Minnesota.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Norman Lee McPhail; her daughter, Mary Lea Leonard; and her sister, Carol Buxman.
