Funeral services for Mrs. Nellie Terrell Phillips, 87, of Jayess will be held at 2 P.M. on Friday, May 30, 2014 at Capps Funeral Home. Burial will be in Enon Cemetery.

Mrs. Phillips passed away at McComb Nursing and Rehab Center in McComb on Wednesday, May 28, 2014. She was born April 27, 1927 in Walthall County, Mississippi to the late Luther and Connie Duncan Terrell. In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by her husband James A. Phillips, Sr.; a son Randy Scott Phillips, Sr. and several brothers and sisters.

She was a long-time member of Enon Baptist Church and had worked as a seamstress at Haspels. She loved gardening and sewing and was an avid painter. Mrs. Phillips was a business woman long before it was politically correct; running a farm and wood yard in addition to her household.

Survivors include sons James A. Phillips, Jr. and wife Judy of Summit and Ben O. Phillips and wife Jeniece of Florida; daughter-in-law Bonnie Jean Phillips of the Salem Community; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and Mary Wells whom Mrs. Nellie thought of as a daughter.
Pallbearers will be Scott Phillips, Matthew Phillips, Parker Phillips, Josh Vining, Craig Vining, and Reggie Phillips.
Visitation will be at Capps Funeral Home on Friday, May 30, 2014 from 12 Noon until service time there at 2 P.M.
