Colorado Govenor, US Senator. He served as the Governor of Colorado from 1899 to 1901. He was a member of the Democratic National Committee from 1884 to 1896, called the "Fusion Candidate" because he was backed by Republicans and Populists. He served as a US Senator from 1913 to 1921.
